Library

Volunteers and parents from the community have generously donated time to our library to shelve books and assist students. Parents who have some basic knowledge of the library are encouraged to sign-up as volunteers.

The Lu Sutton Library is open every school day from 8am to 3pm. Students are welcome before school and grades 3-5 are also welcome during their lunch recess. Parents may use the library and may check out books, as well.   

Our recently renovated library strives to be a comfortable, stimulating, and safe environment. Throughout the year students works are displayed such as Miwok Villages and Missions of California, book reports, etc. This gives all our students the opportunity to appreciate the hard work of others as well as a sense of pride to see their projects displayed.

Our library is generously supported by the PTA, our yearly Birthday Book Club, and Book Fairs and new books are displayed throughout the year.

The library develops and maintains a yearly Accelerated Reader incentive program which encourages students to read books at their grade level and take tests on-line. Each classes progress is posted in the library and updated on a weekly basis.

Our Teacher-Librarian is Ms. Monique Etcheveres and our library tech is Dale Romer.
