What is PTA?
Our Parent Teacher Association is a partnership between Lu Sutton parents, the principal and teachers. Together we work to enhance student learning and enrich the lives of the students within the school. It is also a place for parents to obtain knowledge and voice their opinions about what is happening at our school. The difference between an ordinary school and an extraordinary school is YOU and your support. Research has shown that parent and family involvement is correlated with student success, improved teacher morale and a good school reputation.
Belonging to and attending PTA meetings has also been an important way to continually improve our school. Just because you belong to the PTA does not mean you have to attend meetings but please consider attending at least one during the school year. By joining, it creates a more unified feel to our school.
PTA has supported the following programs in past years:
- Assemblies
- School Trips
- Library Books
- Computer Lab
- PE and Playground Equipment
- After School programs
- Equipment such as a laminator, CD copier, multipurpose room screen, phone tree system, TVs and DVD players for every classroom
- Artist in Residence Programs (3-D Art, Opera, Theater, Dance)
- School Grounds Landscaping and Gardens
- Teacher Supplies
- School Awards
...and that's to name just a few!
