Library is Thursdays. All books should be returned to Room 2 or the school library by Thursday morning.

 Goal Setting
-
This year the planner will be used as a goal setting, goal planning, project organizing and important dates/notetaking tool. Please look at and discuss what is written in your child's planner.

Homework:  Minimum 30 minutes of reading every night. No reading log is required. Students will verify reading homework completion in class by writing about what they are reading in a comprehension log, discussing their book through book talks, and participating in the Accelerated Reading program. Occasionally, a  student may bring incomplete class work home in order to finish the assignment and return it the next day. Or, a large project is underway and students wish to research or design aspects of the project at home. Finally, a fun and challenging Problem of the Week will be offered each Tuesday to take home and try. It will be reviewed in class on Fridays.

OPTIONAL EXTENSION AT HOME PRACTICE:
COMMON CORE:  Students may log in to learnzillion.com, tenmarks.com, khanacademy.com and/or edmodo.com. Students will be working on a combination of these websites throughout the school year. I encourage students to practice at home at least three times a week for fifteen minutes each time.

Bring Your Own Device: Mrs. Mansergh's students may BYOD to school once the Technology Usage agreement is reviewed and signed by both students and a parent. I will be handing this form out at Back to School Night.
I will secure all student devices in a locked cabinet when not in use. Make sure devices are labeled some how with the student's name. Also, there should be some sort of protective casing and should come to class fully charged. REMEMBER, we have technology in the classroom. NO STUDENT'S GRADE WILL EVER BE AFFECTED BY NOT HAVING A DEVICE.
